Moldovan sportsman Urs Imboden Tuesday ranked 18th in the slalom event of the Alpine Ski World Cup that took place in the Austrian ski resort of Schladming. He finished the two downhill races in 1 minute and 49.31 seconds, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the World Cup rankings, Imboden takes the 65th position with 79 points among 141 competitors. In the slalom event, he ranks 20th in the world.
Another Moldovan sportsman who took part in this stage, Christophe Roux, abandoned the competition during the first downhill race.
According Petru Bria, the coach of the national team to the winter sports, Urs Imboden might win a medal at the Vancouver Olympics that start on February 12.
