U.S. Government provides aid for Moldovan flood victims

The U.S. Government donated pillows, blankets, sheets, sleeping bags, personal hygiene supplies, and over 300 cots in the amount of over $250,000 to persons affected by floods in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the handover ceremony, charge d’affaires of the U.S. Embassy Marcus Micheli said the U.S. will also provide $50,000 to purchase emergency relief supplies for the flood victims. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the aid will be distributed by the Hancesti Emergencies Department. He also said he asked the U.S. to delegate experts to work together with Moldovan experts on an emergencies strategy to prevent floods in the future.
