U.S. Ambassador to Moldova James Pettit reiterated the United States’ support for the continuation of the process of implementing the reforms assumed by the Republic of Moldova. The diplomat spoke about this in a meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, James Pettit reiterated the support for changes aimed at fighting corruption, democratizing society and reforming the financial-banking system. The two officials also discussed the political developments in Moldova and enumerated the cooperation directions for developing the Moldova-U.S. relations in different areas, in accordance with the existent bilateral Strategic Dialogue.
For his part, the Prime Minister stated the priorities of the government program for the first 100 days. Among the priorities, he mentioned the swift resumption of the talks with the International Monetary Fund and the signing of a financing agreement with it.
Pavel Filip thanked the U.S. for the constant support and financial assistance provided to Moldova.
