Since 1989, the Romanian language has widened its utilization area in all the spheres in the Republic of Moldova and is spoken better, but not sufficiently better, director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Chisinau Valeriu Matei said in the talk show “People’s Council” on 10TV channel, IPN reports.
According to him, inadvertencies are now met very often, including in the world of those who write. “The people seem to be speaking Romanian, but formulate sentences in Russian. In the same regard, the Romanian language is affected in terms of pronunciation. We didn’t dance ourselves much from that Russian calking and palatization,” stated Valeriu Matei.
He noted a lot is yet to be done in terms of literature for children. “We have very good literature for children, but we also have a lot of books that are harmful to children and appear with infected texts,” stated Valeriu Matei. According to him, a commission should be set up to assess the esthetic and artistic value of children’s books.
