The Liberal-Democratic MPs will never vote for Vlad Plahotniuc if this is suggested for Prime Minister, the leader of the PLDM Valeriu Strelet said in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.
“We had a meeting inside the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group. Each MP apart assured that they will not vote for this candidate. The PDM is trying to accuse us and to shift the responsibility on us because the country is on fire, but we do not want to come to talks. But who set the fire? Who dismissed the Government that started to work?’ asked Strelet.
The leader of the PLDM also said that they will probably not manage to designate a candidate for premiership by December 18, as President Nicolae Timofti required. “Most probably, we will come together before the meeting with President Timofti to see if we have something definite. I think we must not waste the President’s time if we do not reach a consensus,” he stated.
Valeriu Strelet noted that the Liberal-Democratic MPs could ask for the resignation of Head of Parliament Andrian Candu. “There is increasing distrust in Cnadu inside the PLDM. First of all, we do not agree with the way he manages the Parliament sittings. Also, he is Plahotniuc’s man. If the post of Speaker is further held by the PDM, we will demand that another person should be named to this post,” he said.
The Liberal-Democratic heavyweight denied the fact that Vlad Filat dictates how the PLDM should behave. “Filat is in custody and has the right to meet only with his lawyer and close relatives. We should allow the prosecutors and lawyers to do their job. We have no connection with him. We never imposed the condition of setting free Filat. We only said that we do not have confidence in justice. We take the decisions inside the party’s Political Bureau, taking into account the realities,” stated Strelet.
