Veterans want patriotism classes in school curriculum

Veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and on the Nistru want patriotism classes to be included in the school curriculum and announced their willingness to participate in such classes. The proposal was made on Thursday, December 27, during a meeting with Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the Government, the veterans demanded assistance in building monuments in Filipeni village, Leova district, and in the towns of Soroca and Sangerei in the memory of the soldiers who died in Afghanistan. The veterans also demanded the Government to reduce the retirement age, to offer facilities for medical assistance and health spa treatment, as well as subsidies for veterans that own farming lands. The Prime Minister told them that all the proposals would be included on the Government’s agenda. Vlad Filat expressed his interest in strengthening the dialogue with veterans and said that all decisions concerning them must be taken with their participation.
