The vice director of the Edinet Forestry Company was placed under arrest for 72 hours on charges of passive corruption. According to the National Anticorruption Center, this asked for €4,000 bribe, IPN reports.
According to the denouncer, the money was asked for appointing him as a forester at the Donduseni Forestry Company and for not causing impediments to him in his work as a forester.
The vice director was caught red-handed after this took the first tranche of €2,000 that was passed on under the guidance of anticorruption officers.
The functionary faces five to the years in jail, a fine of 120,000 to 160,000 and ban on holding public posts or performing particular activities for a period of seven to ten years.
