U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland noted the results achieved by the ruling alliance in Moldova during the first months of work in a meeting with the first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) Vlad Plahotniuc, who is paying a working visit to the Unites States, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the PDM.

“Continue at this pace and we will support you,” said Victoria Nuland, underlining the necessity of being consistent on the way of reformation. In support of this message, the official announced that the U.S. Department of State is ready to send a group of experts from key areas to Chisinau to help the Government implement the reforms that it undertook.

Vlad Plahotniuc transmitted the ruling alliance’s message concerning the political determination to do the necessary reforms in Moldova and to ensure the country’s stability. “I assure you of my commitment and of the commitment of the parliamentary alliance in Chisinau to reform the state institutions. We are determined to modernize the state so that this matches the goal we set, in accordance with the needs of the people and suitable for a prosperous future. We are determined to do what’s needed for Moldova to make real and consistent progress from economic and social viewpoints,” he stated.

The meeting with Victoria Nuland at the U.S. Department of State was also attended by the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink, who paid recently a visit to Chisinau.

The first deputy chairman of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc was invited by the Atlantic Council to take part in the organization’s most important event of the year - Distinguished Leadership Awards that honors leaders in politics, business, arts and humanitarian activities who intensely promote the relations between Europe and the U.S. Earlier, he had meetings with specialists of this organization with whom he discussed the economic and reform agendas of the Government of Moldova. He will also have meetings with a number of high-ranking officials of the U.S. Administration and with opinion leaders and potential investors.
