The visitors and employees of a café located on the fourth floor of a shopping center in Chisinau were evacuated in the evening of October 12 after the rooms filled with smoke. Firefighters were called to the scene to prevent a fire.
Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Liliana Puscasu has told IPN that there were no flames, but there was dense smoke all over the restaurant. Those from the café and from nearby were evacuated. The firefighters identified the source of smoke and localized it. They stayed there for over 40 minutes so as to monitor the situation and check the ventilation system.
An investigation is under way. A short circuit is the preliminary version examined by the police.
