The Liberal Reforming Party (PLR) proposed Vitalie Catana for the post of Minister of Defense. Prime Minister Iurie Leanca is to examine the candidate. MP Ana Gutu, of the PLR, said that Vitalie Catana was elected by the votes of most of the members of the party’s Standing Bureau, IPN reports.
On March 15, the party’s leader Ion Hadarca had a meeting with President Nicolae Timofti, where he presented Vitalie Catana. To Iurie Leanca the candidate was presented on March 17.
“This post is filled by the PLR and we must not coordinate our decision with the coalition colleagues. Iurie Leanca is now to propose Vitalie Catana for confirmation to Nicolae Timofti. We are wafting for an answer,” Ana Gutu told the journalists on March 20.
Vitalie Catana is a constitutional law expert and a military man by career.
