The chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat is sure that the decision to exclude the Party “Patria” from the electoral race was correct. In the program “Fourth Power” on N4 TV channel, he said that he didn’t get involved and has no connection with this case, IPN reports.

“I’m absolutely sure that the state authorities acted correctly. I’m not concerned about this person (Renato Usatyi – e.n.). I just want the law to be obeyed and the state security and the people’s security to be guaranteed,” stated the Liberal-Democratic leader.

Filat noted that the law enforcement bodies acted with delay both as regards Usatyi and as regards the organization “Antifa”, but found an excuse, saying such things must be substantiated.  Referring to the reaction of the U.S. Embassy concerning the exclusion of the Party “Patria” from the electoral list, he said it’s normal to be concerned when the evidence is not available, but it’s good that the embassies monitor how we obey the democratic norms.

The leader of the PLDM expressed his concern about the fact that there are yet persons who want to undermine state security and think it’s possible to stage coups through mass disorder. “If we analyze the 23 years of independence, we will see that somebody tried to disperse our society during this period. We continue to argue about the language, national identity, history. It’s known that it’s easier to occupy a country when there is no agreement in society. All those provocations in the Autonomous Unit of Gagauzia, the revolts in the northern districts, Renato Usatyi, Igor Dodon, the organization “Antifa” form part of a common scenario called the project “Moldova”. It’s one thing to argue about different subjects and it’s another thing to try to weaken state security. That’s why the actions of the law enforcement bodies in such cases must be prompt and harsh,” stated the former Premier.

Vlad Filat reiterated that the PLDM is ready to form a coalition with the pro-European parties in the future Parliament, saying the period of negotiations will be a short and objective one.
