The decision of the Russian Federation is regrettable and will not contribute to the development of the bilateral relations. The challenges faced by Moldova recently cannot stop the European integration process, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), ex-Premier Vlad Filat said in a press briefing, quoted by IPN.
“In these four years, we showed that we want to build a strategic partnership relationship, as provided by the Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation with Russia and the government program. We showed that we want our relations to be pragmatic, in the national interest, and did everything possible in this respect,” stated Vlad Filat.
The leader of the PLDM considers that Russia, by its latest actions, showed that it pursues a pressure and provocation policy against Moldova. “The producers will analyze their situation and will realize the necessity of diversifying the markets,” he stated.
Vlad Filat urged the parties to show solidarity and to contribute to the overcoming of the situation without trying to obtain political dividends.
Russia imposed the ban on imports of Moldova wine at the beginning of this week.
