Vladimir Cheles qualifies for final

Moldovan boxer Vladimir Cheles is now closer to the London Olympic Games. On April 20, he qualified for the final in the 91kg class in the European qualifiers held in Turkey, after beating Ireland’s Thomas McCarthy 15-12, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the decisive mach, Cheles will face Bulgaria’s Terlev Pulev and needs a victory in order to go to the Olympics. The same day, Moldovan boxer Dumitru Galagot failed to qualify for the final in the 64kg class, being defeated by Turkey’s Yakup Sener. Moldova now has only one athlete who has qualified for the London competitions.
