Vladimir Voronin declines Marian Lupu’s invitation

The leader of the PCRM said he will not take part in the roundtable meeting that will be organized on the initiative of Acting President Marian Lupu. Vladimir Voronin stated that the Alliance for European Integration should first decide what they want to achieve, Info-Prim Neo reports. “They must agree what they want. I will not go to that roundtable meeting. In 2009, I invited everyone to roundtable meetings and negotiations and offered them posts, but they did not want to. Why should we go now?” the Communist leader asked. Vladimir Voronin said that a condition of the PCRM is that the distribution of posts should be reviewed. “We offered them posts at the Audit Office and the Security and Information Service and other important positions,” he stated, implying that the current government should now make offers to the opposition. “We are not beggars and will not beg,” said Vladimir Voronin. Marian Lupu invited the parliamentary parties to a roundtable meeting to discuss possibilities of overcoming the political crisis. The meeting may take place on September 30, starting at 5pm, or on October 1, starting at 1pm.
