According to a communiqué from the PCRM, Vladimir Voronin informed the European official about the party’s position on the recent developments in Moldova’s Parliament. The two discussed the work of the Constitutional Court and the legislative amendment concerning the Parliament’s right to dismiss the Court’s judges.
According to the PCRM, Dirk Schuebel underlined that the representatives of the European Union didn’t question the possibility of changing the legislation, but said that before doing this, the European bodies should have been consulted given that Moldova is under the Council of Europe’s monitoring.
The interlocutors referred to the relations between Moldova and the EU before the Vilnius Summit and the bilateral relations with Russia and the methods of settling the Transnistrian conflict. No other details were given in the communiqué.
