Vladimir Voronin: Igor Dodon in politics is greener than Filat’s party with all its greenness

The leader of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin, in a news conference on July 13, said that MP Igor Dodon does not have much experience in politics and was fielded for mayor general of Chisinau in order to show his abilities of good manager. ”Igor Dodon became a member of the party a year ago. He is an extraordinary specialist in economy and management, but in politics is greener than Filat’s party (the PLDM) with all its greenness. Igor Dodon is not yet politically mature. That’s why our decision to put him forward for mayor general was unanimous,” said Vladimir Voronin. “He is only 35-36 and has a future ahead of him.” Asked by the journalists if Igor Dodon proposed that the party should be reorganized, Vladimir Voronin said he lacks experience. “He can suggest nothing as regards the modernization of our party because he does not have the experience needed to understand aspects of the party’s organizational and ideological work,” he stated. Asked if he will allow Igor Dodon to leave the Communist Party, Vladimir Voronin said he will be neither the first nor the last if he defects. He denied the rumors that somebody inside the party wants Igor Dodon to leave. “You know me. I will never allow something like this,” he said. Igor Dodon lost the mayoral elections in Chisinau after polling 49.4% of the vote.
