The Party of Communists (PCRM) will form post-electoral coalitions neither with the Party of Socialists (PSRM) nor with the Party “Patria” or any other election runner, the party’s leader Vladimir Voronin said in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
“God protect us. We will form coalitions with nobody. We formed a coalition with the Moldovan people, long ago,” stated Vladimir Voronin.
He reiterated that the PCRM will never form alliances with those who left the party. “With traitors? What kind of coalitions, blocs or agreements? This is out of the question. A betrayal is betrayal, no matter what the motivation is,” he stated.
In another development, the Communist leader said the PSRM must be penalized and excluded from the election campaign because its list of candidates represents a camouflaged electoral bloc. The PCRM asked the Central Election Commission to check once against their list as it includes leaders of other parties.
Vladimir Voronin believes the Socialists resorted to such a move because they cannot pass the election threshold otherwise.
Under the electoral legislation, in order to enter Parliament the political organizations must poll at least 6% of the vote, the blocs consisting of two parties – 9%, while the blocs formed of three parties and more – 11%.
