The leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin said that it was a relief for him when Igor Dodon left the party and that he never considered him his successor, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The soldier who does not dream of becoming general is a bad soldier. I personally had a sense of relief when Dodon left. He is a good economist, but I never saw him as my successor,” Vladimir Voronin said in a news conference.
The Communist leader also said that Igor Dodon and Mark Tkachuk have never quarreled, denying that the latter imposes himself in the party. “They (Tkachuk and Dodon) worked very well together in the campaign preceding the presidential elections and in the parliamentary elections. Tkachuk has nothing to do with the steps taken by the traitors. We are not an authoritarian party. Each of us plays a role in the team, but everyone is responsible for the whole work done by the team. In this respect, we are different from other teams,” said Vladimir Voronin.
Asked if the PCRM may cooperate with the Party of Socialists, which Igor Dodon intends to join, Vladimir Voronin said that it depends on the political platform that it will promote. “The left-wing electorate is united. If the Party of Socialists revives after the traitors who left our party go to manage them, we will see,” said Vladimir Voronin.
