The Communist Party (PCRM) will not stage electoral concerts and festive presentations in the election campaign preceding the November 30 parliamentary elections. “We will campaign with deeds and words,” the party’s head Vladimir Voronin told a news conference, quoted by IPN.
According to the Communist leader, the situation in Moldova is indeed criminal and abusive and time has come for everyone to decide on which side they are. Moldova must take part in the integration processes in the post-Soviet area as this, according to the politician, will ensure reliable supplies of energy resources at reasonable prices and will help attract investments of billions to the Moldovan economy. “The integration processes in the East will offer new opportunities for resolving the Transnistrian dispute and for reintegrating our country,” said Vladimir Voronin.
Speaking about the prices, tariffs and salaries, the leader of the PCRM said they will increase the salaries four times and the pensions two times. The program “Forty Towns” will be restored so as to finish the process of gasifying the whole country, to rehabilitate the roads and to supply the population with drinking water.
As to the PCRM’s list of candidates, Vladimir Voronin said it is for the first time that all the candidates are party members. The team consists of representatives of all the ethnic communities of Moldova and their average age is 48.
He confirmed that he will run for the third term as head of state. He stated that he does not long for this, but it is his duty before the party and the people.
Asked about the running of Communist MP Grigore Petrenco in the elections on the list of another party, Vladimir Voronin said the party sustained no loss and the MP will be excluded from the party.
