The radio station “Vocea Basarabiei” is the victim of an oligarchic raider attack, the station’s shareholder Valeriu Saharneanu, who is a member of the Liberal Reformist Party, said in a news conference. According to him, 2014 is the year when the radio station “Vocea Basarabiei” will disappear as an independent broadcaster because it is appropriated by one of the national oligarchs – the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat – by raider-like methods, IPN reports.
Valeriu Saharneanu noted that the ‘theft’ was committed latently, during the last four years, in complicity with the station’s executive director Veaceslav Tibuleac, who is a member of the PLDM. “Communication problems between the founders and the executive director always existed, but they worsened after Tibuleac joined the PLDM. Invoking the acute need of financial resources, which actually exists at the radio station, Tibuleac earned Vlad Filat’s confidence and probably obtained the requested financing. Tibuleac didn’t find it necessary to inform the partners about the sum and conditions in which the money was given,” he stated.
According to Saharneanu, the executive director became dependent on the PLDM’s money and, consequently, the editorial policy of the radio station became dependent on the PLDM’s political agenda. The employees are told to fulfill political orders and this thing is especially evident.
The MP said that in recompense for such a business, Veaceslav Tibuleac received a house with several stories, located in Schinoasa quarter of Chisinau. This situation is an attack on the freedom of the media and the democratic values. “Vocea Basarabiei” must remain a radio station that serves the national interests and the public interests of the people.
