The national movement “Voievod” urges the citizens of Chisinau municipality to go and vote on June 3 and to give a chance to the Party of Socialists’ candidate Ion Ceban. Representatives of the movement said Ion Ceban is a professional with studies who has a real plan for solving the city’s problems.

In a news conference at IPN, the movement’s head Nicolae Pascaru said that after he analyzed the electoral offers of the candidates, he ascertained the there is a harsh struggle between Ion Ceban and his opponent Andrei Nastase. However, the candidate of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” regrettably avoids having debates with Ion Ceban, depriving thus the voters of the possibility of putting questions to him. The head of “Voievod” noted he would like to ask Andrei Nastase if he will bring his family that settled in Germany to Moldova and if he is not ashamed to accept the support of persons who committed the banking fraud, “which is of Iurie Leanca, Maia Sandu and Anatol Salaru”. He would also ask him about the 11 homes he owns and why he privatized a cultural monument.

Nicolae Pascaru said Andrei Nastase started his political activity with acts of corruption and the voters should think if they need more thieves at the City Hall or should choose a person who can solve their problems. “The City Hall should be headed by a competent person. I don’t understand how Nastase intends to become a mayor if he does not take part in debates. The people expect to see solutions to their problems,” he stated.

Gheorghe Grozav, leader of the public organization “Tradition and Patriotism” called upon the young people to vote on June 3. He voiced hope that the future mayor will be preoccupied with the problems faced by the capital city and the suburbs and will take measures to solve them. The mayor should also have a Civil Society Council that will include people from the community.

Chairman of the public organization “Moldovan Shield” Igor Sarbu said he would like a person who wants and can root out corruption from the City Hall to be elected mayor. “How can we allow the City Hall to be managed by a corrupt person? The city should be saved,” he stated.

The mayoral runoffs in Chisinau municipality will take place on June 3.
