The common vote of the Liberal-Democratic and Communist parliamentary groups in favor of dismissing First Deputy Speaker Vlad Planctonic will lead to the dissolution of the ruling alliance, considers political analyst Viorel Cibotaru. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the analyst said that the chairman of the PDM Marian Lupu meant this when he issued a political warning to his alliance colleagues, especially Prime Minister Vlad Filat. “Marian Lupu warned that if Vlad Plahotniuc is dismissed, the Democrats will withdraw from the alliance. He, in fact, stated the PDM’s position that they will not make concessions,” said Viorel Cibotaru. According to the analyst, the common vote of the PLDM and PCRM in favor of removing the post of First Deputy Speaker is a sign that the two factions have common views. “The bill concerning the exclusion of the post of First Deputy Head of Parliament is aimed, in essence, at the removal of Vlad Plahotniuc. It is a more delicate formula,” stated the analyst. “The PLDM launched an initiative that must have certain legislative effects. These effects can lead to the change of the political situation. I think this situation reveals the similarity between the views of the PCRM and PLDM on a certain problem – the place occupied by Vlad Plahotniuc in Parliament and in the political life,” said Viorel Cibotaru. In a press briefing on February 13, the Democratic Party head Marian Lupu warned his Liberal-Democratic colleagues that a common vote with the Communist Party in the Parliament’s sittings will lead to the nullification of the agreement on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration. The Democratic leader didn’t answer journalists’ questions and didn’t specify if it was a particular project or a general position.
