The legislative body holds a secret vote on the dismissal of Marian Lupu from the post of Speaker. The procedure was initiated at the suggestion of the Communists and will last for an hour. The Democratic lawmakers announced that they will not take part in the vote. The Liberals who support Mihai Ghimpu also do not intent to vote, IPN reports.

Four tables were put in the Parliament’s halls, from where the MPs will take the ballots. There are also a polling booth and a ballot box in front of it.

The head of the commission for recalling the Speaker Igor Vremea, of the Communist faction, said the ballots contain the following question: “Are you for dismissing Marian Lupu from the post of Head of Moldova’s Parliament?”. The MPs who are against will not mark the ballot.

There were prepared 110 ballot papers, nine of which are in reserve. The Speaker is discharged by the votes of 2/3 of the lawmakers.
