Wages in June 6.1% higher than last year

This June, the average gross nominal wage was 3913.5 lei, which is 10% more than in last year’s same period, Info-Prim Neo reports. In reality, relative to the price level, the wages grew by only 6.1%, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the National Bureau of Statistics. In the public sphere, the average salary, in June, was 4560.5 lei, while in the real sector the average wage was 3617.5 lei. The highest average salary was registered in finances, at 6715.7 lei. Education comes in second, with wages of 5298.2 lei. Head of the demographic and labor market statistic division Elena Vitcarau told Info-Prim Neo that the second place is atypical for the sphere of education, but in June the teacher’s wages were higher due to the included vacation allowances. Salaries higher than the national average were registered in the heating, electric energy, gas and water utilities fields (5077.5 lei) and in the field of real estate transactions (4360.9 lei). The lowest wages were earned by workers in the fields of fishery (1610.1 lei), agriculture, hunting and forestry (2046.9 lei).
