Waters claimed eight lives on June 10

Eight persons drowned in Moldova yesterday, June 10. The victims included an underage person. Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcanu has told Info-Prim Neo that in most of the cases the adult persons who drowned were under the influence of alcohol. Two victims are from Ulmu and Cigirleni village of Ialoveni district, another four from Criuleni and Straseni, one from Vadul lui Voda and another one from Calarasi. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns against swimming in unknown places and in deep waters, at night and while under the influence, and using tires and other improvised floating objects. The children must not be allowed without supervision while near the water. A number of 29 cases of drowning have been recorded in Moldova since the start of the summer season. Seven of the victims were minors.
