The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau joins the Americans from all over the world in celebrating the Independence Day that is the most important holiday of the nation. The holiday commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.
In his speech during the ceremony at the embassy, William Moser underlined the importance of individual freedom. “Some say that in order to have a powerful nation, the personal freedoms must be restricted. This is not the experience of my nation. We found strength in freedom and power in diversity,” said the diplomat. The independence of the U.S. is based on the principles that all the people are equal and have a number of inalienable rights, including to life, to liberty and to pursue happin
