We, the three lawmakers named the Dodon group, want to avoid the early legislative elections and are ready to vote for an apolitical presidential candidate, from outside the ruling alliance. This way, the political crisis will be overcome, the government will be re-reformed and conditions will be created for ensuring political stability and economic development for a period of three years,” reads a statement issued by the press service of MP Igor Dodon, Info-Prim Neo reports. The lawmaker says not all the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration realize the seriousness of the situation and cannot give up the selfish party ambitions and the posts. Some of them even want early elections rather than stability. “A strange phenomenon reappears in Moldova – cooperation between extreme political organizations – the extreme left (PCRM) and the extreme right (PL). We have reasons to believe that the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu is indirectly concerned about the fate of the PCRM so as not to remain without a suitable electoral opponent and without anti-Communist electoral messages. Besides, he does not want to renounce the post of Speaker that was offered to him by the agreement on the formation of the ruling alliance, even if early elections may take place,” says the statement. Igor Dodon describes the accusations made by Mihai Ghimpu against him as illogical and aberrant. “I respond to him on this occasion: It is true that Igor Dodon is part of a project. This project is named “Stability and Development for Moldova”. I would like as many politicians as possible to join this project,” said the MP. He also said that his group will not allow appointing the unionist Mihai Ghimpu to a key state post. “His political activity until now cannot be called contribution to stability and development in Moldova,” he added. Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramchuc left the Communist parliamentary group on November 4. In a meeting of the AEI Council last week, Igor Dodon proposed Zinaidaa Grecianyi for the post of head of state.
