The migration of Moldovan doctors aboard has positive effects as well. The specialists who work in developed countries obtain new experience and share it later with their colleagues who remained at home, pro-rector of the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu” Valeriu Chicu said in a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Within a project initiated by the University and supported by the European Commission and the International Organization for Migration – Migrants’ Capacities for the Moldovan Health System Development Project – Moldovan doctors who are in the country and those who work in Germany established cooperation relations and exchanged experience. There were formulated joint project proposals in such areas as neurosurgery, rheumatology, and thoracic surgery. Project coordinator Viorica Reinhardb said the Moldovan doctors who migrated can help establish connections with foreign doctors for exchanging experience and improving thus the medical system in Moldova. Doctor Mihaela Jardan, who has lived and worked in Germany for several years, said the regional hospital MediClin Krankenhaus am See where she works intends to cooperate with one of the Chisinau hospitals in implementing German technologies for treating vascular traumas and paralyses. The one year and a half Migrants’ Capacities for the Moldovan Health System Development Project will be completed in a month. The budget of the project is €157,000.
