Temperatures will drop slightly during January 18-23 to the average seasonal range. This change will bring along scattered showers, mostly in the form of rain, and freezing rain in the north.
Lidia Trescilo of the State Weather Service told IPN the precipitations will be most intense on January 20. There will be fog across limited areas, and glazed ice will form on roads in parts of the country on January 20-23. Moderate wind will blow at speeds of 8-13 m/s, to intensify on January 20 to 18 m/s.
During January 17-22, lows will range from minus 6 degrees Celsius in the north to plus 3 degrees in the south. Highs will range from 0 to 10 degrees Celsius.
Moldova experienced similar mild winters in 2006/2007 and 2011/2012. However, temperatures then dropped significantly in February.
