The Metropolitan Church of Chisinau and all Moldova said the Weeping Icon of the Mother of God from Boyan, Ukraine, will be available for veneration at the church in Gratiesti village of Chisinau municipality in the period between May 9 and May 14, IPN reports.
According to a communique of the Metropolitan Church, the icon will be met at 12 noon. While it will be in Gratiesti, religious ceremonies will be held at the church both during the day and at night.
It is said that in the evening of December 18, 1993, before the Feast of Saint Nicolae, when a service was held in the church in Boyan, tears started to roll down from the eyes of the Mother of God. One year later, the baby Jesus Christ also started to ‘weep’, the icon being sanctified.
