Moldovan biathlete Victor Panzaru entered the Olympic competitions on February 14. In the 10 km sprint, he finished 70th of the 88 participants, Info-Prim Neo reports. Even if he missed only one target at shooting, Victor had a poorer time at skiing. The winner, France's Vincent Jay, finished by 3 minutes 44.8 seconds ahead of him. Thus, the 18-year-old sportsman will not compete in pursuit. Bogdan Macovei ranked 33rd in sledding among 38 competitors. The next Moldovan sportspersons who will enter the competitions are Alexandra Camenshchik and Sergiu Balan. They will compete in ski de fond. Owing to the unfavorable weather conditions, Moldova's representative Christophe Roux could not perform in Alpine skiing. The Super G event was postponed. The United States is a leader by the total number of Olympic medals won – six, while France is a leader by the golds won – two.
