Women's U-17 team trounced by the Netherlands

The women's national Under-17 squad of Moldova was demolished 9-0 by the team of the Netherlands in the first European Under-17 Championship qualifying match. The match was played on Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on Wednesday, October 21, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Moldovan female footballers did not manage to avoid the disaster even if they tried very hard. They sent no kick into the adversaries' goal. The Dutch team were evidently superior and neutralized easily the hosts' defense. Nikki van de Pas has scored four goals. After the match, Moldova coach Igor Shpaniora said he was shocked at the result of the game. “We trained intensely for these preliminaries and played friendly matches. But, unfortunately, we were unsuccessful,” Shpaniora said. In the other match of group 6 played in Orhei town, Ukraine beat Kazakhstan by 6-1 owing to the hat-trick scored by Oksana Iakovishan. The next encounters will take place on Friday, October 23. Ukraine meets Moldova, while Kazakhstan – the Netherlands.
