A moderate, yellow terror alert level was instituted in the Republic of Moldova in the connection with the regional security situation. The announcement was made by the Security and Intelligence Service, IPN reports.
The control measures will be intensified and public order will be maintained at state border crossing points, airports, train and bus stations and at other crowded places. The guard at the managed critical infrastructure facilities will be stepped up.
The Security and Intelligence Service calls on the people to inform themselves from official sources, to avoid unverified information and to follow the instructions of the National Commission for Exceptional Situations.
The Government will today ask Parliament to declare a state of emergency. The Commission for Exceptional Situations will be convened today to agree the measures that need to be taken to manage the crisis and to deal with humanitarian challenges.
