Over one hundred young entrepreneurs from Moldova discussed the reality and possibilities to develop their businesses at a Forum today, organized by the National Association of Young Managers (ANTiM). They were able to network and share experience. For the first time, the forum was joined by young entrepreneurs from the left bank of the Nistru River, which spoke about their experience of doing business, IPN reports, quoting a press release of ANTiM.
The event was opened by the European Union Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Pirkka Tapiola, UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Moldova, Dafina Gercheva, and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Andrei Spinu.
“Involving young people in business is crucial to speeding up the development of the country. You have a great potential to bring in change and prosperity, through your energy, innovativeness and dedication. EU pays special attention to youth entrepreneurship and will continue to support Moldovan youth deciding to pursue their business ideas,” said Pirkka Tapiola. He welcomed the participation at the event of young people from Transnistria and emphasized the importance of such platforms for pragmatic, business cooperation, for the future of the region as a whole.
Dafina Gercheva said entrepreneurship, especially led by youth, for Moldova, is a great tool to combat youth unemployment and social exclusion as well as stimulate innovation.
Young entrepreneurs presented their successful businesses developed under the auspices of the European Union, the United Nations Development Program, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The business forum “The realities and potential business development by young entrepreneurs in Moldova” was organized by the Moldova National Association of Young Managers (ANTiM) with the financial support of ARGIDIUS Foundation, European Union within the EU-UNDP Support to Confidence Building Measures Program and the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
