A man aged 30 was arrested on suspicion that he tried to rape a woman in a park in Chisinau. The suspect was earlier tried for similar offenses, for robberies and thefts, IPN reports.
According to the Chisinau Police Division, a woman aged 85 told the police that she was walking through the Park “Valea Trandafirilor”. The young man approached her and attempted to force her to have sex with him, but his attempts were thwarted by a passerby. The suspect ran away, but was identified and arrested.
The man admitted his guilt. Attempted rape carries a penalty of three to five years in jail.
