Young man drowns in lake in Chisinau, his girlfriend saved

A young man drowned when he and his girlfriend fell from an inflatable mattress into Braniste lake of Rascani district. The girl was saved by witnesses, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the National Emergency Medicine Center, the incident happened on June 15 at about 5am. High school graduates who went to meet the dawn at the lake said that the young man pushed the mattress towards the middle of the lake and wanted to get on it. But the mattress overturned and they both fell into the water. Several students hurried to help them, but could save only the girl. They could not find the young man. The girl was taken to the Emergency Hospital. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the body of the young man was recovered in about an hour. He was a student of the Police Academy.
