Young man gets 17 years for murder and theft

A23-year-old man was sentenced to 17 years in jail for murder and theft, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, on May 1, 2010 the young man and his female partner drank alcoholic beverages that they stole from a shop in Durlesti town on the eve. They started to quarrel. The man beat the woman because she insulted him. Afterward, he stabbed her 22 times until she died. The offender went away and took the knife with him. The second day, he sold the knife to a road sweeper for 10 lei. The body of the woman was found by passersby soon after the incident. Earlier, the man served time in prison for theft. After he was released, he stole food products and beverages to the value of over 11,000 lei from a shop.
