A man aged 23 was shot dead by an employee of the North Regional Division of the General Carabineer Inspectorate in Elizaveta village of Bălți municipality last night.
In a press release, the Inspectorate says the employee was outside working hours and the personal gun was held legally. Being involved in a conflict, the carabineer fired a shot from his gun and injured fatally the young man.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, press officer of the Bălți Police Inspectorate Eugenia Molchanov said the police were alerted by a local woman, who said that a young man was shot dead at the entrance to the village. It was established that the 37-year-old man came into conflict with a group of persons. As a result, he took out his gun and fired it.
A criminal case was started and the suspect was placed under arrest for 72 hours.
