A 33-year-old man died after he was shot in the abdomen by a hunting mate. The two were on a boat on the pond and were hunting ducks. It happened in Ialoveni district on October 27.
Press officer of the General Police Inspectorate Mariana Bețivu has told IPN that the police were called by a man aged 48 from Suruceni village at about twelve noon. He told the police that he accidentally shot his hunting mate. The injured man was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved.
Both of the men were members of the Society of Hunters and Fishermen of Ialoveni district and held the guns legally. The culprit was detained for 72 hours and faces murder charges. Other circumstances are being established.
