Prime Minister Vlad Filat handed over the keys for a two-room apartment to athlete Zalina Marghieva within a festivity held to mark the 22nd anniversary of the foundation of the National Olympic Committee on January 29. Zalina Marghieva ranked eighth in hammer throwing at the 2012 London Olympics, Info-Prim Neo reports. Within the event, there was presented a video about the glorious moments of the Moldovan sportspersons at the Olympic Games There were also handed over medals and diplomas to sportspersons and partners of the National Olympic Committee. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said it is very important to promote the sports movement in Moldova. “We must pay increased attention to the sports so as to have appropriate conditions for developing them. I want to thank all those who helped develop the sports movement by their enthusiasm and by sacrifices,” he stated. The event was attended by Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici, National Olympic Committee chairman Nicolae Juravschi, International Olympic Committee representative Dieter Kuhnle, sportspersons, coaches and sport veterans.
