Representatives of the parliamentary groups stated different opinions on the report rendered by Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko in Parliament on Friday, Info-Prim Neo reports. The PCRM blames the government for the developments in the country. “The alliance is responsible for what’s happening. We saw that the lawmakers who elected the prosecutor two years ago now accuse him, while the prosecutor for his part accuses the MPs. The lawmakers of the Alliance for European Integration discredited all the democratic norms,” Communist MP Sergiu Sarbu said after the legislature’s sitting. The leader of the Liberal-Democrat group Valeriu Strelet said the faults in the prosecutor general’s work are evident and he should be dismissed. “Regardless of the speculations, the PLDM has not given up the intention to obtain the prosecutor’s dismissal. The prosecutor lies when he says the wiretapping activity was transferred from the Security and Information Service. I heard only about the secrecy of the investigation,” said Valeriu Strelet. On the other hand, the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said the alliance proved that it is a democratic government working in accordance with the law. “The officials of such institutions as the Ministry of the Interior, the Security and Information Service and the Center for Combating for Corruption and Economic Crime should not come in Parliament and tell the lawmakers how to implement the law. The most important thing now is to elect the head of state and avoid early legislative elections,” he stated. Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said that if the prosecutor had been questioned behind closed doors, the report should have been more detailed. Valeriu Zubko was questioned at the request of Marian Lupu after Vlad Filat demanded that the prosecutor general be dismissed.
