Prosecutor's office obeys President's urge to free April 7 demonstrators

The General Prosecutor's Office (PG) announces it “started to revoke the reprimand measures in form of arrest applied on the persons who attended the mass disorders on April 7,” following the urge of the Moldovan President. The Prosecutor's Office's spokeswoman, Maria Vieru, has told Info-Prim Neo it means the prosecutors will ask the courts to free the detained people. The measure may envisage all the people held up following the street protests. According to the Interior Ministry, 108 people are still being detained being accused of the violent protests of April 7. The Chisinau city hall compiled a database about at least 328 arrested people, on the basis of phone calls from relatives of the missing and reports of formerly detained.
