Ombudsman Tudor Lazar asked the Constitutional Court to determine the constitutionality of the Parliament’s Decision concerning the report on the incident that happened in the natural reserve “Padurea Domneasca” (Domneasca Forest) on December 23, 2012. He requested verifying especially the provisions about the judicial authority and the prosecution bodies, IPN reports.
”Each of us, regardless of the position and role occupied in society, must show respect towards justice. We can speak about the rule of law only when the culprits are tried by a court set up in accordance with the supreme law,” said Tudor Lazar. According to him, the need to implement the law principles by ensuring and defending the human rights and fundamental freedoms made him appeal to the Constitutional Court.
The report on the incident in the Domneasca Forest, where a man was wounded mortally during hunting, was presented by the commission of inquiry on February 15. The report says that the hunting was illegal and there were used banned bullets. It suggested dismissing all the government officials who took part in it.
