Singers from China and Ireland to take part in “Twin Hearts” festival
The tenth contest-festival “Twin Hearts” that is held in memory of singers Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici will bring together in Chisinau 44 competitors from 15 countries. For the first time, the festival will involve singers from China, Ireland, and Serbia. The participants will sing by a song from the repertoire of Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici and a song in the language of the country that they represent, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Eugenia Marin, the mother of the late Doina Aldea-Teodorovici who forms part of the organizational committee, told a news conference that the participants in the festival are aged between 16 and 40.
In another development, Eugenia Marin said that a museum in memory of the two artists hasn’t been set up yet. Several days ago, the Ministry of Culture has allocated money for compiling an album with all the famous songs of the couple and for making a documentary about the life and work of Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici.
The artists’ son Cristi Aldea-Teodorovici, who chairs the “Twin Hearts” festival, said that he recently gave a series of concerts in memory of his parents on the American continent and was pleased to see a lot of Moldovan emigrants in the halls. At this year’s festival, there will be performed several new songs discovered in the archive of composer Ion Aldea-Teodorovici.
The organizers specify that the festival will take place at the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” on November 13 and 14, starting at 4pm. The Laureate Gala will be held at the National Palace on November 15, the day when Doina Aldea-Teodorovici was born. It will begin at 6pm.
