Some articles of Broadcasting Code contradict each other, Supervisory Board members
The Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova will ask the parliamentary commission for science, youth and mass media to modify a number of articles of the Broadcasting Code that run counter to each other. The decision was taken at the Board's meeting on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The discussion on the given issue started when the acting director of the national television channel Adela Railean asked the Supervisory Board members to find a method for remunerating the secretary of the Board, in accordance with the Broadcasting Code. She said the condition to hire and pay a secretary was imposed by the Audit Office, which is now examining Teleradio-Moldova.
The Supervisory Board's chairman Eugen Rybka said that an article of the Broadcasting Code says that the Board should employ a secretary, but another article says that a member of the Board loses the status of member of the Board when he/she becomes salaried employee of Teleradio-Moldova. He inquired how the former secretary of the Supervisory Board Anatol Dubrovski was paid.
Teleradio-Moldova's chief accountant Natalia Balteanu said Dubrovski was paid according to the contracts, deepening on his participation in the meetings. Now the Audit Office established that he was overpaid 77,000 lei.
Until the parliamentary commission for science, youth and mass media makes a decision, Viorica Cucereanu will work as secretary of the Supervisory Board on a volunteer basis.
