The 25-year-old man who is suspected of facilitating the misappropriation of funds from Chisinau-Gaz will be under arrest for 25 days more. He is held at the remand unit of the Anticorruption Center, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the institution. The detained person acted as an intermediary in the embezzlement scheme. He is suspected of appropriating funds from the company under an agreement with officials of Chisinau-Gaz. He found consumers who were ready to pay a lower sum than the one indicated in the bill and then 'settled the debts' in concert with officials of the gas supplier. Thus, in the bills of the beneficiaries there were indicated 'zero' debts for gas, but in the company's bookkeeping documents the debts remained. The case is investigated by the Anticorruption Center and the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.
