Two young men who had tortured and robbed a couple in Ciucur Minjir village of Cimislia district were placed under arrest for 30 days. One of them is the nephew of the robbed man, while the other one is a former convict, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the two men aged 18 and 19 at the end of October entered the house of the couple with the intention of stealing the money that the husband and wife earned in Italy for repairing their house. As the man and woman refused to tell them where the money was, the two men beat them and cut one of the man’s fingers with an ax. The couple was discovered in the morning of next day by workers who came to continue the repair works. The man aged 70 and the 56-year-old woman were taken to the hospital, where they still receive treatment. The Prosecutor’s Office of Cimislia is continuing the investigation. The suspects are liable to 7 to 12 years in jail.
