The Association of Moldovan Businessmen Everywhere and the National Farmers Federation of Moldova on June 29 signed an agreement of cooperation to support and develop the agricultural sector of the Republic of Moldova. The announcement was made in a news conference at IPN.
The organizations will make effort to facilitate investment in agriculture, building of silos and product storage places and to also identity new export markets.
“We learned abroad what being competitive is, what having access to modern equipment, technology and manufacturing processes means. We learned methods of entering new markets with products of the highest quality. We will implement our knowledge with which we developed businesses abroad so as to put to good use the land on which our parents and grandparents worked. We are convinced that the potential of our country can be realized and want to show that this is possible,” said Alexei Repede, president of the Association of Moldovan Businessmen Everywhere.
Among the biggest problems faced by the farmers in the country, Alexei Repede mentioned the lack of state protection, the intricate fiscal system, the ambiguous legislation and monopolization of the production market and procurement.
The two organizations aim to provide agricultural consultancy services and technical assistance to farmers, to develop non-banking financial services and to launch new projects in biodynamic agriculture. They will also create entrepreneurs’ cooperatives to facilitate access to the market.
“We will find together for our farmers ways to financing at reasonable interest rates, to markets to sell high value added agricultural products by implementing modern technologies for growing, keeping, processing and selling agrifood products,” said the president of the National Farmers Federation of Moldova Valeriu Cosarciuc.
The Association of Moldovan Businessmen Everywhere plans to launch a national entrepreneurial culture project that will be intended for all the categories of entrepreneurs, including those who work in agriculture.
