Parliament voted in two directors of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE). These are Sergiu Ciobanu and Octavian Lungu. Their terms in office start on January 12 and will last for six years, IPN reports.
The Communist faction considers the two candidates are unsuitable as they do not have the necessary administrative experience. Liberal MP Gheorghe Brega said that these posts were negotiated with the Liberal reformers.
Earlier, Sergiu Ciobanu was named director general of the ANRE, following the dismissal of Victor Parlicov. But the latter was reinstated in his post by a decision of the Constitutional Court, which ruled that the constitutional were violated when Parlicov was dismissed.
Sergiu Ciobanu was deputy minister of economy, while Octavian Lungu was adviser to the minister of transport.
