Business entities will no longer be obliged to hold stamp

The necessity of holding a stamp will become optimal, not mandatory for business entities. Such a provision is contained in a bill to amend a number of legal acts approved by the Cabinet on April 20, IPN reports.

Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari said the obligation to hold the stamp increases the business registration costs by 200-300 lei. In the external trade operations, the stamp represents a nontariff barrier that makes the export and import procedures more difficult.

This fact was also mentioned in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2015, where Moldova was placed 35th out of 189 countries as regards business registration, but could have been placed much higher.

Vladimir Cebotari said the stamp on the documents of business entities in the epoch of technological development does not represent a safety sign and is actually an outdated element. But reference to the stamp is made in over 100 laws.

It was yet agreed that the public authorities, which represent the power in the state, must continue to use the stamp, on a mandatory basis.
